-------------------------------------- (July 1, V-498 -- evening) Myaru's gear hovered several hundreds of feet above the ground, in the shadow of a nearby mountain, and surveyed the ruins of Lahan without much interest. There wasn't much left of the quaint little town -- most of it had been blasted and destroyed by gear combat, she supposed, but the scorched, glassy crater that marked most of the place was like a beacon. The entire area fairly reeked of Ether residue. Only one man could have caused such wholesale damage. //That bastard. He's interfering again! This was completely un-called for.// She wheeled Tenshi around, scanning the area for life forms. Nothing. All of her careful planning, and he ruined it with one blow! //Damn you, Kyouran......// Her light mood upon departure for Nisan had been completely shattered. It was small things like this that had set her back four thousand years ago. Back then she had bred Lambs for her purpose as well, but the rising rate of genetic damage had ultimately defeated her and delayed her task to revive -god-. If it had not been for that scientist...... But that was beside the point. Another fool had just destroyed her careful planning...... what she would have used these people for ultimately she did not know, but their usefulness as subjects would have been great. Now...... Now they were dead. Their sacrifice was worthless. Kyouran was going to pay for this -- somehow. Someday soon. She would find a way, even if it meant losing this body. What did she care for death? She would be revived as long as there were women populating the earth. If they died out, she would be born again on the snowy slopes, just as she had been before...... Before she had lost her other half. After all, a few more sets of memories would not make a difference. They were all jumbled together at the back of her mind, just faint whispers, like the not-quite-silence of a theater audience. It would go on...... and on...... never ending until she revived her father and destroyed the world. Would she be able to remain sane until then? Myaru sighed. The whispers receded. That was the whole point of this trip -- to keep her sane. Nisan was a place of peace, even for her. Perhaps she could forget her task for awhile, and try to enjoy the life she was forced to live. Deus could wait. Kyouran could wait. For now...... But she -would- pay him back for this -- somehow. ------------------------------------------"Prelude" (Myaru) By: Amber Michelle Stand tall and shake the heavens......
